The People

Nick Sexton, Founder/Director/Editor

Nick was born in Atlanta and grew up in Clifton, Virginia. He earned a J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2014 and graduated from the  University of Arizona in Tucson with a B.S. in Geography and Urban Planning. While at UGA Law he served as the founder and president of the Land Use and Planning Organization and received the Student Pindar Award from the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia. When not thinking about development issues he can be found stargazing, taking photographs, staring at maps, hiking in the Georgia wilderness, or watching a soccer game.

Nick was a contributor to Flagpole Magazine in Athens, GA writing about development and zoning issues. He recently had the opportunity to participate in a panel discussion about the development issues facing Atlanta on Georgia Public Broadcasting’s “On Second Thought.”

Jennifer Grimes, Editor/Map Mogul/Project Developer

Jennifer has a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Georgia and  a Master’s Degree in City and Regional Planning from Georgia Tech. While at Georgia Tech she specialized in environmental planning and received a certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Her research focused on using GIS to identify suitable habitat corridors for creating preserved pollinator-friendly pathways. She spearheaded Georgia Tech’s movement to become the second college campus in the country to achieve Bee City, USA certification. Jennifer is a craft beer-drinking, ostreophile who can be found at the nearest beach in her off time.
